  • Note that this isn't only C.S. Lewis' grave, but also that of his brother, Warnie.

  • For this picture we traveled a few thousand miles. It was worth it.
  • I'd begun to fall in love with the monuments found throughout the English cemeteries.

  • The grave site of Janie Moore, with whom Lewis lived for many, many years.

  • One of the many monuments at Holy Trinity Church, this one will be familiar if you've seen the "C.S. Lewis - Dreamer of Narnia" DVD that came with the extended version of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." And it's a snail.
  • Outside the door of Holy Trinity Church. The small size of these web pictures doesn't show the light rain which was a mixed blessing: it caused some problems with photography, but set a wonderful mood.
  • Lewis' former residence is not something you go tour. Ron's opinions on this fact are obvious; our jury's still out.

  • Lewis' former home was a house and large area of land known in its entirety as "The Kilns". Some of the land has been parcelled out, so The Kilns doesn't really exist anymore, but the house bears the name. The cat? Well, you'll have to ask me about that...
  • A portion of The Kilns still exists, a large pond and several wooded acres. Wandering through the woods, it was definitely possible to feel that you were walking through the seeds of the Narnian stories.
