  • Many of the monuments at Wolvercote have been laid down for safety concerns. This particular cross appealed to the wife; I need to get some pictures of the other version.

  • It was right across the street the whole time.
  • Wolvercote Cemetary, where rests J.R.R. Tolkien. Two days in Oxford and I was afraid we'd not manage to get here. Then the realization that it's literally across the street from our bed & breakfast.
  • Okay, it isn't really Oxford; it's Eastbourne like the keywords say. But this was the morning we left for Oxford. Does that count? Somehow?
  • Similar excuse. Eastbourne Station of the day we headed for Oxford.
  • This was a great station in a location between Eastbourne and Oxford I should remember the name and frankly don't. I say great because I'm so used to the station in Chicago which isn't nearly as bright, open and, well, even photogenic. We were running late because of a stalled train in a tunnel, so even though I wanted to take more pictures from other locations I was running the risk of not making it back to the train when the doors closed.
